Save The Music
The Lebanese cedar is a symbol of national pride but due to urban sprawl and climate change, the trees are going extinct. And so far traditional conservation efforts have failed to relate to young people. But with the most vibrant nightlife in the Middle East, young Lebanon loves to dance - especially to House music. So we spread our conservation message in a language young people could understand – music. With the help of a world-renowned bioacoustics scientist, we extracted high frequency rhythms from inside ancient cedar trees and had Beirut’s top DJs remix them into a house track. The result was the first ever house track featuring the actual voice of a cedar tree.
